CTC lists upcoming non-credit courses The Continuing Education Department of Central Texas College is registering for its spring noncredit classes. Available classes include business, language, art and exercise. A listing follows: Financial Focus for Women: The program covers issues specific to women including strengthening credit, improving cash flow, investing, managing taxes and passing wealth to heirs. Class is Tuesday, 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Cost is $14. FastTrac: Listening to Your Business: This hands-on workshop is designed to provide potential and existing small-business owners and managers with critical evaluation tools and action steps needed to maximize growth and profitability. Class meets Feb. 22, 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $46 plus $29 for the course workbook. Creating a Marketing Plan for Your Non-Profit: Learn the basics of how to make public relations work for your organization. Students will develop a marketing and public relations plan to run a successful media campaign. Class meets Fridays, Feb. 29-March 14, from 1- 4 p.m. Cost is $34 plus $15 for the course workbook. Computer Essentials: This slower-paced course is designed with senior adults in mind. It provides the foundation for understanding and mastering basic computer applications such as data and information files. Class meets Saturdays, Feb. 23 to March 8, 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $41. Glass Mosaic: Learn to make beautiful stained glass items for your garden. Students will learn how to use a glass cutter, mosaic cutter and pliers to shape glass shards and apply grout. Class meets Feb. 22, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $18 plus the cost of the mosaic kit. Conversational Japanese (beginning): Gain a basic understanding of sentence structure and pronunciation. The class will cover basic Japanese letters, numbers, grammar, greetings and conversation. Class meets Monday and Wednesdays, Feb. 25 to March 26, 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Cost is $41. Long-Term Care Myths and Facts: Explore the important facts, misperceptions and negative connotations commonly associated with the long-term care industry. The class will focus on different types of facilities, selection guidelines and finance options. Class meets Feb. 26, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $14.
