Volunteers sought at hospital Rollins Brook Community Hospital will hold an orientation session for prospective volunteers Thursday from 1-4 p.m. at the hospital. There are 25 volunteers serving the public, and Ann Hughes, Fay Mullins, Ann Oliver and Jean Sutton have logged over 3,000 hours of service. Two volunteers are 90 years old. Volunteer opportunities are available for men and women of all ages. "As Lampasas grows, so does our need for more volunteers," said Nance Travis, volunteer services coordinator. A new duty station -- an information station -- will open on the nursing floor. Volunteers assigned there will direct patients and guests to the lab, emergency room, business office and registration. "This will create a need for two volunteers to man the station five days a week," said Ms. Travis. For information, phone (800) 285-1283 or (254) 519- 8147. ![]() |
