Garland Walker
Funeral services for Garland Maxwell Walker, 89, of Lometa are Feb. 19, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with Layton Black officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery near Lometa.

Mrs. Walker died Feb. 15 in Lometa.

She was born Jan. 16, 1919, in Lometa, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle Hayes Maxwell.

Mrs. Walker attended Lometa schools.

She married Jack Walker on Nov. 9, 1940, in Lometa.

In 1962, after many relocations related to her husband's military career, the couple settled on their ranch just west of Lampasas with their daughter, where they resided until Mr. Walker's death in 2004.

Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and a member of First Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Dean, and husband, Mike, of Lampasas; three grandchildren, Chris Dean, and wife, Paula, of Bangs, Joely Palmer, and husband, Kenny, and Ricky Dean, all of Lampasas; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley Stockman, Nicholas Palmer, Jaci Palmer, Kendall Dean, Karleigh Dean, Brayden Dean, Brodee Massey and Lathen Massey; and a brother, Bob Maxwell, of Lometa.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by three sisters, Carmen Glimp, Ruth Terracio and Lola Frazier; by a brother, William Maxwell; and by a granddaughter, Kim Stockman.

The family requested memorials be made to First Street Church of Christ, 201 W. First St. in

Lampasas.
