Sub-Varsity Basketball The Lampasas High School freshman boys' basketball team closed its season Tuesday night with a 41-30 home win against Burnet. The Badgers closed their season 5-21 overall and 1-13 in district play. Colton Perkins scored a gamehigh 16 points, and Lazarua Salazar added 16 of his own. The Badgers led 15-4 at the half and played even with the Bulldogs the rest of the way. "We played great defense in the first half," Coach Ben Needham said. "The entire team contributed to this win. What a great way to end the season." Last Friday, the LHS freshmen lost on the road against Marble Falls, 55-36. Perkins scored a team-high 13 points, and Miguel Uvalle and Ryan Peter added seven and six, respectively. Marble Falls 8th Boys 33, LMS 22: The Lampasas Middle School eighth-grade boys closed their season with a road loss to the Mustangs. Brandon Scott and Lucas Atkinson scored five points apiece, Justin Alvarado chipped in four, and Bailey Millican and Tanner Swinford each recorded three. "I want to thank this group of young men for all their hard work this year and thank the parents and fans who supported us all season," Coach Aaron Knuckles said. |
