LHS softball opens with loss

The Lampasas High School softball team opened its regular season Tuesday night with an 11-2 road loss against Leander High School.

The Lady Badgers (0-1) are scheduled to resume their play today in the two-day Gatesville Tournament.

Senior LHS ace Kirby Crow got the start and took the loss.

LHS freshman Taylor Holloman reached on a double in the fourth inning, and senior Vonzella Underwood doubled in the sixth for the Lady Badgers' only extra-base hits.

Senior Taryn Brown recorded two singles, one in the fourth inning and one in the sixth, and freshman Marisa Bogart also recorded singles in the fourth and sixth innings, respectively.
