Mrs. Alexander Funeral services for Wandah Alexander, 85, of Lampasas were Feb. 13, 2008, at Briggs-Gamel- Wilcox Funeral Home with the Rev. Glynn Tyson of Adamsville Baptist Church officiating. Burial was at Lometa City Cemetery. Mrs. Alexander died Feb. 11 in Lampasas. She was born Feb. 7, 1923, in Lampasas County, the daughter of Roy E. and Donah Mayben. Mrs. Alexander taught school, was a dietitian, was very active in home economics, taught nurses during and after World War II and was a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, James Alexander, of Burnet; two brothers, Leroy Mayben, of Pottsville, and Clifford "C.B." Mayben, of Lometa; one sister, Juanita Willis, of Presho, S.D.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Durwood Alexander, in 1952. The family requested memorials be made to Adamsville Baptist Church, 17084 Hwy. 281 North, Lampasas, or to the charity of one's choice.
