Democratic Women select new officers

The Democratic Women's Association of Lampasas recently selected members to leading positions in the organization.

At its last called meeting, the steering committee for the new year was appointed.

Replacing founder and longtime president Betty Lindsey is Jennifer Scribner. Other officers include Dale Funk, secretary; Lewvon Hicks, treasurer; Mary Ann Roberson, communications; Yvonne Beatty, press reporter; and Ellen McFarland and Leah Snell, program chairmen.

The association, recently celebrating its fifth year of existence in Lampasas, meets monthly to discuss issues, educate members, invite guests and local celebrities, plan for events and support the annual Democratic Labor Day Picnic.

Group members also participate in the Lampasas Herb/Art Fest, Spring Ho, art shows, Bloomin' Fest, and other city and county events.

Membership and meetings are open to the public.
