RFD-TV to air local FB breakfast

PHOTO BY BILL McDONALD A number of Lampasas Countians and special guests took advantage of a $.45 breakfast at the recent Food Check-Out Week event at the Lampasas County Farm Bureau. District 54 State Rep. Jimmie Don Aycock was among the many who stopped by for an early morning meal.
Food Check-Out Week, Feb. 3-9, was designed to celebrate the bounty from America's farms and ranches, and how it is passed along to consumers through affordable food prices.

To mark the special week, Lampasas County Farm Bureau served breakfast to the public, charging $.45 per person, which represents the amount a farmer receives for the breakfast products.

Proceeds from the meal totaled about $70, and Farm Bureau donated the amount to the Lampasas County Youth Livestock Association.

Attendance was good, and District 54 State Rep. Jimmie Don Aycock (R-Killeen) and Lampasas County Judge Wayne Boultinghouse were among those who partook of the breakfast.

Television coverage was provided by Waco news channel 10.

Also in attendance were Tom Nicolette, director of media services for Texas Farm Bureau Public Relations, and Ed Wolff, TFB public relations producer, both of Waco.

The event will be broadcast on the RFD-TV show, "Voices of Agriculture," Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.; Thursday at 1:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.; and Feb. 23 at 2:30 p.m. on DirecTV channel 279 or Dish Network channel 231.
