Railroad commissioner candidate to be guest of Democratic Women

Dale Henry
Dale Henry, a candidate for Texas railroad commissioner, will speak to the public Wednesday in the Lampasas County Office Building at a 6 p.m. event sponsored by the Democratic Women's Association of Lampasas. A light supper will be served.

Henry, a former city manager of Lampasas, is running as a Democrat for state railroad commissioner.

A fifth-generation Texan, a Lampasas County resident and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Henry holds a bachelor of science degree in petroleum engineering.

He served two years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and 14 years in the reserves.

Henry had a long career with Dow Chemical in research and development, and with Dowell Schlumberger and Gearhart-Owen in training and management.

After retirement, Henry was an independent oil field contractor for several years.

He has served as chairman of Fox Crossing Water District of Mills County for 15 years and was a Mills County commissioner.

Henry also serves as a member of the Region K Lower Colorado River Regional Water Planning Group.
