Lometa Scouts retire flags
      Lometa Boy Scouts held a flagretirement ceremony Saturday in their community. They retired 14 flags from friends, family, a business owner and a Vietnam veteran. Junior High boys end season on high note
      The Lometa Junior High boys' basketball team ended its season Monday with a near-perfect 10-1 record. They faced competition this year from Cherokee, Eden, Lohn, Richland Springs and Rochelle. The lone loss was suffered at the beginning of the season against Lohn. That game went into overtime.

Campus memorial marker honors former resident
      Former Lometa resident Riley Godwin was honored by the placement of a memorial marker at the Alvin Independent School District to recognize his contributions to the district. Godwin graduated from Lometa High School and attended Tarleton State University and Texas A&M University.
