Candidate forum slated in Killeen

The Area Veterans Advisory Committee will host a candidates' forum Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Killeen American Legion Post 223 at 208 S. Park Ave.

U.S. Rep. John Carter, District 54 State Representative Jimmie Don Aycock and Rep. Sid Miller are among the candidates for Congress and the state legislature who will participate in the forum.

Republicans John Alaniz, Michael Pearce, Ralph Sheffield, Martha Tyrock and Democrat Sam Murphey, candidates for the State District 55 seat held by Dianne White Delisi, will be on hand.

The forum will focus on military and veterans' issues at the national and state levels.

The committee includes veteran leaders from Bell and Coryell counties.
