Former Badger bandsman seeks donations to participate in summer drum, bugle corps music games Former Lampasas Badger bandsman and drum major Connie Rosado has been selected to perform as a member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2008 season. Over 600 individuals from around the world auditioned for the corps, and Miss Rosado earned a spot as a marching French horn player. As a member of the Crossmen, she will train in San Antonio one weekend each month through May before spending 10 weeks of the summer traveling across the U.S. to perform and compete in the Drum Corps International Summer Music Games in Indianapolis, Ind. The Crossmen is comprised of 150 youth performers who excel in one of three areas: brass, percussion and color guard. To participate, each member is required to pay approximately $2,800 in member and touring fees, which includes travel, instruction, food, uniforms, equipment, housing and other expenses. Miss Rosado is seeking sponsorship donations to help offset the cost, and they can be made at www.crossmen.com or sent to Crossmen Productions Inc., P.O. Box 591940, San Antonio, TX 78259. Put Miss Rosado's name in the memo section of the check. ![]() |
