It's a girl!
      Robert and Shannon Lindsey of Lampasas announce the arrival of their daughter, Emberli Payge, born Jan. 23, 2008, at 8:43 a.m. at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. At birth, Emberli weighed 7 pounds and was just over 17 inches in length.

Flames plan dance clinic, dinner, raffle
      Lampasas High School Flames will host its first Sweet Heart Little Sparks Dance Clinic and Technique Camp Saturday at Bozarth-Fowler Gym. Funds raised will defray costs of a planned March trip to Florida for competition.

Public meeting on historic school slated
      Preservation Lampasas Inc. will hold a public meeting regarding restoration of the historic Lampasas Colored School. The meeting is Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Lampasas City Council Chambers, 407 S. Main St., behind the Police Department.

Sock hop slated by Girl Scouts unit
      Lampasas Service Unit of Girl Scouts of Central Texas will offer a 1950s night, Me and My Guy Sock Hop (for fathers and daughters) Feb. 15 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Hanna Springs Intermediate School gymnasium. Cost is $12 per couple and $4 for each additional daughter.

Sculptor to be in Temple on Feb. 16
      T.J. Mabrey's exhibition, "The Boat Show, an Exhibition of Vehicles, Vessels and Viewpoints in Marble," opened last month at the Azalee Marshall Cultural Activities Center in Temple and will remain open until Feb. 22. The exhibition includes more than 20 sculptures made of marble and/or bronze.

Former Badger bandsman seeks donations to participate in summer drum, bugle corps music games
      Former Lampasas Badger bandsman and drum major Connie Rosado has been selected to perform as a member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2008 season. Over 600 individuals from around the world auditioned for the corps, and Miss Rosado earned a spot as a marching French horn player.
