New facility planned at no cost to LISD
Quarterback Club hopes to fund dressing rooms with donations, in-kind services

      Badger Field could be getting a new dressing area if the Lampasas Quarterback Club is able to raise funds to pay for the facility. David Millican, president of the football booster club, said he believes enough donations of cash and in-kind services will enable the facility to be constructed.

Special ceremony
      Lometa Boy Scouts held a flag-retirement ceremony Saturday night to honor worn flags. Scouts and leaders cut the flags into colored strips, with each strip holding significance based on its color. Fourteen flags were retired at the ceremony. See additional photos, page 6A.

Candidates for county sheriff to be in spotlight Monday
      A candidate forum Monday night will feature two Republican hopefuls -- Joe Lorette and David Whitis -- in the race for Lampasas County sheriff. The public is invited to attend the event, which will be at 7 p.m. in the district courtroom on the second floor of the Lampasas County Courthouse.

Filing for county, school board seats to begin Monday
      Filing for City Council seats in Lampasas, Lometa and Kempner, and school board positions in Lampasas and Lometa begins Monday and continues through March 10. Early voting will run April 28 through May 6, with elections set for May 10.
