Nominations are accepted for environmental awards

Keep Texas Beautiful, a statewide nonprofit dedicated to litter prevention, beautification and waste reduction, is accepting nominations for its 2008 awards through Feb. 19.

Awards recognize the efforts made by individuals and groups to enhance their community and protect Texas' environment.

Awards are given in categories honoring individuals, senior citizens, law enforcement officers, civic organizations, government departments, businesses and media outlets.

Youth awards also will be presented with a May deadline for nominations.

All winners will be recognized at the 41st annual Keep Texas Beautiful Conference in June in Irving.
