Government contracting conference set Wednesday

The Central Texas Business Resource Center will conduct the second annual Fort Hood Region Government Contracting Conference & Expo Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center.

The conference includes a business expo where small businesses can showcase their products and services to government and business attendees, as well as provide the opportunity to network one-onone with procurement representatives from government and private sector prime contractors.

Conference sessions will provide opportunities for small business owners to learn about accessing multi-million dollar government and private sector markets in potential subcontracting opportunities in 2008.

Sessions include introduction to government contracting, obtaining contract financing, how to get on the GSA schedule and a presentation about the Killeen Downtown Action Agenda.

Federal and state government purchasers procure billions of dollars in goods and services annually. The Fort Hood Region Government Contracting Conference and Expo will provide small businesses, including small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned, HUB-certified and veteran-owned businesses, access to government and private-sector contracting opportunities and information.

Conference sessions are conducted by prominent government, corporate and business leaders.

Cost to attend is $145 per person at the door and includes lunch. More information is available at www.fthoodgovexpo.org.
