Church presentations on tap

Dr. Arun Jones, the Helen Lancaster associate professor of evangelism and missions at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, will be at First Presbyterian Church of Lampasas to lead adult Sunday School class in an exploration of Christianity and culture in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

A Feb. 10 presentation will be on Christianity in Asia, and Feb. 17 will feature Christianity in Africa. On Feb. 24, the program will be Christianity in Latin America. Classes are at the church's fellowship hall, from 9:45-10:45 a.m.

The son of Methodist missionaries in India, Jones was reared in India and came to the U.S. to attend Yale University. After graduation, Jones served as a mission intern and missionary for four years in the Philippines with the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church.

Jones is working on a history of the church in north-central India from 1800-1980 that will be published by the Church History Association of India.
