Lady Badgers earn sweep of Hendrickson The Lampasas High School girls' basketball team completed a season sweep of Pflugerville Hendrickson with a 48-42 road victory on Tuesday. The Lady Badgers (10-18 overall, 3-9 in District 25-4A) jumped out to a 14-3 first-quarter lead and staved off the Lady Hawks (1-11 in district) for the remainder of the contest. LHS produced a balanced scoring attack, getting 15 points apiece from senior guard Jennifer Howard and senior post Latoscha Sherman and 11 from senior guard Michelle Benton. With the win, the Lady Badgers not only complete the sweep of the Lady Hawks (they won 56-40 on Jan. 2), but also they eclipsed last year's district-win total of two (they finished 2-12). LHS has the opportunity to improve on that total with its two remaining games scheduled for Bozarth-Fowler Gymnasium. Cedar Park Vista Ridge, which beat LHS 58-53 on Jan. 2, will come to town tonight, and Dripping Springs, which beat LHS 74- 50 on Jan. 4, is scheduled to play here on Tuesday in the season finale. |
