Brownwood holds off LHS in District 8-4A opener

The Lampasas High School boys' soccer team opened District 8-4A play with a 5-2 home loss against Brownwood on Tuesday.

Brownwood jumped out to a quick lead, scoring three goals in the first 10 minutes before the Badgers found their footing and played even for the remainder of the game.

The Badgers will attempt to rebound today when they play at Stephenville at 7:30 p.m. The LHS girls will play host to Stephenville at 7:30 p.m.

For the Badgers, Walter Oosthuizen found the net in the 31st minute, and Sam Barbero scored in the 77th minute on an assist from Jasetin McPherson. Each team took 16 shots on goal, and LHS keeper Alex Rininger registered eight saves.
