Burn ban reinstated
      Citing numerous grass fires and continuing dry, windy conditions, County Judge Wayne Boultinghouse on Monday reinstated the countywide ban on outdoor burning. Exceptions to the burn ban include barbecue pits and household trash burned in a barrel with a screen on top.

15-year jail sentence handed down in district court action
      An Austin man received 15 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division in recent action in Judge Joe Carroll's 27th District Courtroom. Jeffery Wade Menem, 39, charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, was credited with time served.

County law enforcement officials release recent list of arrests
      The following arrests have been reported by law enforcement officials. Jan. 30 -- Gary Eugene Gant, 37, of Lampasas for driving while intoxicated and driving while license invalid. He posted bond and was released from the Lampasas County Jail the same day.
