Hornets seek playoff berth
      The Lometa High School boys' basketball team is about to embark on what head coach Wendell Bradley calls, "The put up or shut up tour." Basically, the tour consists of Lometa's three remaining district games -- games which the Hornets must win to grab a playoff spot in District 29-1A Division II.

Scouts plan ceremony to retire flags
      Boy Scout Troop 26 of Lometa will hold a flag retirement ceremony Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the gazebo in Lometa. Boy Scouts have been collecting flags that need to be properly disposed of. The public is invited to attend.
