Youths participate in Fort Worth Stock Show

Presli Procter showed her Hereford breeding heifer to an eighth-place finish in the division at the Fort Worth Livestock Show. This was Presli's first year as an exhibitor at major stock shows.
A large delegation of Lampasas County youths participated in the first week of the annual Fort Worth Stock Show, which featured breeding stock competitions.

County youth and parents Kasey Bussell, Hunter Bussell, Tina and Lee Loeffler, Taylor and Breighton Loeffler, Michael, David, Maegan and Kim Fisher, and Laura, Mitch, Nolan and Bryce Ramon participated in the swine show.

Lometa FFA member John Brooks competed in the gilt show and junior showmanship.

Breeding heifer participants were Presli Procter and mom, Kelli, Braedon Raub with his parents, Darrell and Mary, and Lucas, Mike and Cindy Atkinson.

Michael Fisher earned the reserve champion Hampshire breeding boar and breeding gilt award.

Nolan Ramon placed sixth with his breeding gilt, and Bryce Ramon took fifth.

Braedon Raub was third with his Simbrah breeding heifer, and Lucas Atkinson placed third with his Charolais heifer.

FFA parent Mike Atkinson helps son, Lucas, blow dry his Charolais heifer in preparation for the breeding heifer show. Lucas finished third in his division.
