Scouts hold annual recognition banquet
Lampasas man honored for service

Pack 100's Ty Claussen, left, was recognized for selling the most popcorn in a recent fund-raiser for Texas Trails Council, comprised of more than 17 counties. Phillip Blackstock was the winner of the "fill it up" drawing.
Boy Scouts of America and leaders from a five-county area in Central Texas gathered recently at the Hancock Springs Hostess House for the Kickapoo Scout District Annual Recognition and Awards Banquet.

Each year, Scouts and their families and volunteer leaders meet to honor and celebrate the achievements of individual Scout leaders and their respective Scouting units.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the District Award of Merit to Michael R. Bradle of Lampasas and Roy T. Curbo of Brownwood.

Both men were recognized for their long service as Boy Scouts of America leaders and for their support of Scouting in their respective communities, the state and the nation.

Ty Claussen was the top popcorn seller, and Phillip Blackstock won a special drawing.
