Mr. McGuire

Lometa resident Samuel Thomas "Mickey" McGuire, 88, died Jan. 24, 2008, at his daughter's home in Houston.

Graveside services were Jan. 28 at Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm.

Mr. McGuire was born March 3, 1919, in Coshocton, Ohio, to Francis Rickets and Winifred Audrey Thomas McGuire.

He married Gertrude Lillian White May 6, 1943, in Rockport, and she preceded him in death in 1997.

Mr. McGuire was a railroad conductor. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Wells, and husband, John, of Grapevine, and Donna Cahill, and husband, Michael, of Houston; a son, Thomas F. McGuire, of Roanoke, Texas; a brother, Francis E. McGuire, of Coshocton; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
