Burn Ban Reinstated

County Judge Wayne Boultinghouse has reinstated the outdoor burn ban, effective Monday. All outdoor burning in unincorporated areas is prohibited, except for cooking in barbecue pits and burning household trash in a barrel with a screen on top. The only other exceptions are for agricultural purposes with prior approval from the county fire marshal.

A violation of the order is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
