Former resident garners promotion in Bryan ISD

Sundy Allison Fryrear, a 1988 Lampasas High School graduate, was named Bryan Independent School District's Administrator of the Year for 2007.

This is the highest honor given to an administrator by the Bryan ISD.

Mrs. Fryrear has been the director of School Nutrition Services for the district for three years, and served as assistant director for seven years before being promoted to the top spot.

As director of School Nutrition Services, Mrs. Fryrear is responsible for generating and managing a $7.3 million budget, supervising over 170 employees at 22 schools, and directing the production of over 17,000 meals each day while maintaining compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.

A school district representative said Mrs. Fryrear exhibits excellent leadership skills and tackles every project she encounters with a "cando" attitude.

The director is active in the Texas Association of School Nutrition and serves on several professional committees within the school district.

Mrs. Fryrear is president of Caldwell Little Dribblers, serves on the board for Caldwell Little League Softball and coaches both youth basketball and softball.

She is the daughter of John and Kay Allison of Bryan, formerly of Lampasas.
