Art in the Park soliciting for outdoor sculpture entries

Art in the Park 2008 is a juried exhibition of outdoor sculpture. Three jurors, experts in the field of sculpture, will choose five artists from a large number of applicants.

Artists are selected on the basis of originality, artistic conception and quality of work.

The show is produced by the Lampasas Association For the Arts to benefit the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden.

Early electronic applications are accepted through April 11 for $45, and late electronic applications will be taken until April 14 for $65. Fees are non-refundable.

Late electronic entries will not be accepted after April 14.

Acceptable categories include outdoor sculpture, any medium.

Unacceptable media categories: paintings, prints, graphics, photography, mass-produced work, soap, or objects made from commercial kits. In addition, works that incorporate materials acquired from the killing of an endangered species, elephant ivory, dried or silk flower arrangements, bonsai, embellished commercially made objects (T-shirts, note cards, etc.) will not be accepted.

Awards will be given at jurors' discretion. A stipend of $1,000 will be made payable to the artist. All work selected for exhibit must remain installed from April 26, 2008 to April 26, 2009.

Applicants must submit an application and a non-refundable fee. Artist must submit images of three to five works for consideration.
