Mr. Sultemeir

O.J. Sultemeir
Funeral services for O.J. Sultemeir, 77, of Lampasas are Jan. 22, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with Pastor Glynn Tyson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Sultemeir died Jan. 18 at Cornerstone Hospital in Austin.

He was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Sandy, the son of Rudolph and Emilie Hansen Sultemeir.

He was baptized in the Central Christian Church as a youth, and had been a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.

Mr. Sultemeir served in the U.S. Army with the FEC Signal Service Battalion 8235th Army Unit in Tokyo, Japan, during 1953 and 1954.

He married Ruby Grace Harrigal on Sept. 27, 1957, in Austin.

Mr. Sultemeir was a draftsman for Central Texas College and had been city engineer for the city of Waco prior to that.

He was a farmer and rancher and a member of AMVETS and the Farm Bureau.

Mr. Sultemeir enjoyed dancing and working puzzles.

He is survived by two daughters, Dawn McDonald and Kristi Sultemeir, both of Lampasas; grandsons, Jason (Bubba) Kirkpatrick and Jake Kirkpatrick, both of Lampasas; great-grandchildren, Cayson and Tex Kirkpatrick, both of Lampasas; and two sisters-inlaw, Doris Fox and Ruby Sultemeir, both of Lampasas.

He was preceded in death by his wife in April 2007; by a brother, Warren Sultemeir; a sister, Amy Beck; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Fox and Archie Beck.

The family requested memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
