Man's probation revoked

In recent action in Judge Joe Carroll's 27th District Court, Ruben Vega Jr., 37, had his probation revoked and was remanded to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division for four years for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. He was credited with jail time served.

Benny Ray Manning, 45, was sentenced to one year in state jail for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was credited with 137 days of jail time served.

For indecency with a childsexual contact, 54-year-old Dennis Lee Pickens of Kempner received six years' deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine.

Charged with injury to a childreckless, Lowell Preston Garza, 18, of Lampasas was given five years' deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine. He also must pay court costs.

On her charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, 23-year-old Candice Elizabeth Pabst was given three years' deferred adjudication probation and must complete a rehabilitation program at Central Texas Treatment Center.

Copperas Cove resident Frank McDonald, 54, had his state jail felony reduced to a Class A misdemeanor. He received two years' deferred adjudication probation for evading arrest with a vehicle. McDonald also was fined $100 and must perform 50 hours of community service.

Judge Carroll determined that Kimbrough Fred Estes, 38, violated his probation. His offense -- criminal non-support -- was punished as a Class A misdemeanor, and Estes was ordered to pay $3,000 in back child support. He also was sentenced to 20 days in jail and credited with 20 days served. In addition, Estes must pay court costs of $215.

Rogelio Rivera, 25, of Lampasas is set to enter an open plea in court Jan. 25. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and bond jumping.

Jan. 25 arraignments are set for Robert Allen McCullough, 39, for possession of a controlled substance; Joseph Howard Farr, 20, of Copperas Cove for evading arrest with a vehicle; Terry Jay Crosby, 36, of San Saba for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition; Scott Schowalter, 38, of Lampasas for theft of a firearm; and Jana Terese Hernandez, 30, of Lampasas for two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Pretrial hearings are set Jan. 25 for Ali Hussein Ibrahim, 19, of Kempner, charged with graffiti; and for Scott Anthony Gunn, 36, for sexual assault of a child.

Arraignment is set Feb. 8 for 30- year-old Shawn Christopher Holland on a charge of hindering a secured creditor.

Copperas Cove resident Sontaya Pelletier Vrankovich, 19, charged with theft over $1,500 and under $20,000, is set for a Feb. 8 pretrial hearing.

On his charge of theft over $1,500 and under $20,000, Dude Edward Beabout, 50, of Gatesville is to enter a plea Feb. 8.

Harker Heights resident Holli Elise Ricketts, 42, charged with forgery, is set for a Feb. 22 arraignment.

The judge lowered Joe Harvey Hardin's bond to $1,500 on the condition he does not drive or drink alcohol. The 37-year-old Hardin, charged with driving while intoxicated and felony repetition, is set for punishment Feb. 29. A presentence investigation was ordered.

Pleas are expected to be entered Feb. 29 by Amy Jo Pitcher, 39, of Lampasas for possession of a controlled substance; Rodney Joel Key, 50, of Lampasas for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition; and Albert Alvarado, 26, of Lampasas for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. A presentence investigation was ordered for each.

A Feb. 29 pretrial hearing is slated for Earnest Harold Smiley, 58, for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition.

A review is on the March 28 docket for Jeremy Todd Toms, 20, charged with sexual assault of a child under 17.

Clarence Ray Biddy, 54, of Lampasas is scheduled for a May 12 jury trial for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
