Mrs. Hodge Funeral services for Nalda Kenan Hodge, 84, of Burnet were Jan. 17, 2008, at Edgar Funeral Home in Burnet. Burial was at Burnet's Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Hodge died Jan. 14 at Oaks Nursing Home. She was the daughter of Everett and Alice Risinger Kenan, and spent her childhood exploring Lake Victor. As a young woman, Mrs. Hodge worked in Lampasas as a photographic assistant for Wooten's Studio. She then moved to Austin to work as an office clerk for the Texas Railroad Commission. Mrs. Hodge loved music and often performed with her brother's band. In 1959, she married Larry Hodge, and they made their home in the Burnet/Lake Victor area. Mrs. Hodge was a homemaker and an active member of Lake Victor Baptist Church and was a charter member of Lake Victor Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include her husband of Burnet; a son, Barry Hodge, of Burnet; a sister, Novalee Jackson, and husband, Emmitt, of Lake Victor; a nephew; and three nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Kenan and William Kenan, and by a sister, Doris Huffman. The family requested memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Burnet, in care of Dortha Collins, 1615 FM 2340, Lampasas, TX 76550. Arrangements by Edgar Funeral Home of Burnet. |
