      Retired Lt. Col. Robert Jean Franks, 75, of Lampasas died Jan. 10, 2008, in a local hospital. Funeral services were Jan. 14 at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas. Mr. Franks was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Gatesville, the son of Cody Carlson and Francis Fay Hopson Franks.
