CTC lists non-credit classes The Continuing Education Department of Central Texas College will introduce several new classes this month. Registration is now open for the following new classes. New Chef 101: Beyond the Microwave: This fast-paced course is designed for the aspiring "foodies" and home gourmets whether you're a rookie in the kitchen or looking to polish culinary skills. Learn about equipment, new techniques and new ingredients with an emphasis on healthy cooking as you prepare meals. Class will meet Jan. 19 and Jan. 26, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $64. Stained Glass: Learn how to make beautiful stained-glass pieces with step-by-step demonstration and instruction in the Tiffany style. Class will meet Jan. 19 and Jan. 26, 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $16. Floral Design I: Class covers the basics of cutting and processing fresh flowers, making bows and creating beautiful floral arrangements including a seasonal arrangement. Class will meet Tuesdays, Jan. 22 to Feb. 12, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $26 plus approximately $50 in supplies and flowers. Effective Time Management and Organizational Skills: Learn practical ways to be effective and efficient as you cover topics such as multi-tasking, completing assignments before deadlines and organizing for easy retrieval of information. Class meets Jan. 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $14. Identifying the Exemplary Middle School: Examine middle schools from a variety of perspectives including students, teachers, support staff and administration. Class also looks at organizational vision, goals, instruction methods, special features location and what does and does not work in middle schools. Class meets Saturdays, Feb. 2- 23, 10 a.m. to noon.
