18-0!
LHS freshman girls stay perfect with 12-point win
Sub-Varsity Roundup

The Lampasas High School freshman girls' basketball team just keeps rolling along.

The Lady Badgers ran their unbeaten streak to 18 games with a dominant 42-30 win at Cedar Park Vista Ridge last Friday.

They outscored the Lady Rangers in every frame, including a 15- 10 margin in the third that thwarted a Lady Ranger rally. Vista Ridge got hot after the break and pulled within 22-21, but the Lady Badgers lit it up in the second half of the third quarter.

Madison Morris led the Lady Badgers with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jennifer Herron scored 11 points and grabbed nine boards. Fallon Holland and Mikenzie Myrick grabbed 11 and eight rebounds, respectively, and Marisa Bogart had nine assists.

Vista Ridge JV Girls 35, LHS JV 27: After knocking off Pflugerville Hendrickson at home on Jan. 2, the Lady Badgers fell short on the road against Vista Ridge last Friday.

Behind the guard play of Kaylyn Urofsky (seven assists) the Lady Badgers (9-10) kept it close, trailing 18-17 at the half before Vista Ridge slowly pulled away.

"That team (Vista Ridge) is undefeated in district, and we had a good shot at beating them," LHS JV coach Stuart Beckwith said. "And we didn't even play as well as we can."

In the 43-38 win against Hendrickson, a game the Lady Badgers trailed 20-17 at the half, Lori Stafford and Kayla Lowery scored 16 points apiece to lead all scorers. MaKayla Valles scored seven, and Urofsky had 12 assists.
