PEC increases HVAC rebates

In an effort to facilitate conservation, Pedernales Electric is increasing the rebate amount members receive for replacing certain types of heating, venting and air conditioning systems with qualifying energy efficient units.

"The rebate increase applies to dual-fuel pump or ground- or water source heat pump systems, but the entire program allows us to assist members who invest in making their homes more energy efficient," said PEC Community Relations Manager Toni Reyes.

Members who wish to participate should review the guidelines before purchasing a new HVAC system to ensure the unit's Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio qualifies for the rebate.

HVAC rebates range from $225 to $1,000, depending on the system type, and apply to retrofit systems installed after Jan. 1, 2008.

New construction installations are not eligible for the program.

Details about the rebate program, including a downloadable brochure, are available at www.pec.coop in the "Services" section.
