PEC reduces utility rates

At its Dec. 17 meeting, the Pedernales Electric Board of Directors approved rate reductions for residential, water well, interconnection backup and small power customers. Reduced rates will be reflected on bills rendered after Jan. 1.

PEC's board enacted the cut based on better than projected margins resulting from efficient cost containment. Residential members using November's average consumption of 1,412 kilowatt hours per month will pay $140.30 per month under the new rate.

"The board continuously monitors PEC's financial conditions to balance fiscal responsibility and customer care, so the best interests of the entire membership can be represented," said PEC General Manager Bennie Fuelberg.

PEC members can get detailed rate information on the web at www.pec.coop, by calling (888) 554-4732.
