Cookie sales to begin

Girl Scout cookies sales are set to begin Jan. 19. In addition to being purchased via traditional door-to-door residential sales, the cookies now can be found through an online booth locator. The Girl Scouts of Central Texas is one of 16 councils nationwide to pilot the online locator this year.

Every year, troops establish cookie booths in front of local businesses to bolster their sales. Potential patrons can locate a cookie booth by following the link on the Girl Scouts of Central Texas home page, www.gsctx.org, and then searching by ZIP code.

Girl Scout cookies can be purchased at a booth or from a local troop member for $3.50 per box between Jan. 19 and Feb. 22. Proceeds directly benefit the Girl Scouts of Central Texas by providing funds for programs, financial aid, facilities, camps and more.
