Mr. Lackey

Funeral services for Herbert Carlton Lackey of Lampasas were Jan. 10, 2007, at Briggs-Gamel- Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Florence City Cemetery in Florence.

Mr. Lackey died Jan. 8 at his residence. He was 72.

He was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Alpine, the son of W.C. and Iva Bain Lackey Sr.

Mr. Lackey was a photographer for the state for many years. He was very active in the Masonic Temple, Valley of Austin Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, and Liberty Hill Craftsman Lodge 432. He also enjoyed ranching and raising livestock.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Carlile Lackey, of Lampasas; and brothers and their wives, W.C. and Melba Lackey Jr., of Liberty Hill, and Edwin and Ceverene Lackey, of Driftwood.

Mr. Lackey was preceded in death by a son, Bret Lackey, in 1994.
