Former Badger siblings run together

Maegan Fisher
The fall of 2007 will mark the final season in which Lampasas High School graduates Maegan and Wesley Fisher run cross country together.

The siblings, who ran together at LHS until Maegan's graduation in 2006, both ran at Western Texas College in Snyder last fall.

Maegan, who plans to transfer to Lubbock Christian University next fall to continue her agriculture-science studies, did not run as a freshman but could not stay away from the sport despite being the only female runner at WTC.

"I just love to run, so it was hard to stay away," Maegan said. "It was me and eight boys, but it was fun. Growing up with guys (younger brother Michael is a sophomore at LHS), I actually relate better to guys than girls, and they were very protective of me."

Wesley, who was a regional qualifier in track and cross country at LHS, consistently ran in the No. 2 and 3 spots for WTC this fall. He finished as high as 13th at the conference meet.

Wesley plans to run at WTC again this fall, but he doesn't want his career to end when his eligibility at WTC is up.

"I'm really looking into transferring to Abilene Christian or Lubbock Christian."

Wesley Fisher
If it's LCU, there's certainly a chance these two siblings could run together in 2009.
