CTC lists non-credit classes

The Central Texas College (CTC) Continuing Education Department is kicking the new year off with a variety of non-credit courses. Registration is under way for the following classes.

Excel 2003: This spreadsheet package will help students plan, design and build their own worksheets. Class topics include worksheet cell functions, spreadsheet linkage, creating formulas, splitting windows and lookup tables. Class meets Tuesdays/ Thursdays, Jan. 8-31, 1-3 p.m. Cost is $74 plus $22 for the coursebook.

Water Aerobics for Lifelong Learners (50 years and older): Workout class uses the resistance of water to improve strength, flexibility, muscular endurance and balance. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 8-Feb. 14, 9- 10 a.m. Cost is $36.

Jazzercize: Perfect for any fitness level, this class combines a blend of jazz dance and exercise science for a high-intensity aerobic workout, muscle toning and strengthening. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 8-31, 5:40-6:40 p.m. Cost is $26.

Indoor Cycling: Class is great for improving cardiovascular fitness and burning calories. Participants ride stationary bikes at varying levels of intensity. Class meets Fridays, Jan. 11-Feb. 14, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Cost is $23.

Native Plants for the Central Texas Landscape: Discover the history of native plants and the varieties that flourish in Central Texas. Class will cover soil, compost and fertilizers, perennial, trees and more. Class meets Wednesdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 13, 6:45- 8:30 p.m. Cost is $41.

Create Real Special Events: Put sizzle in your next special event by learning about planning, pricing, return on investment, public relations booth sales, sponsorships and more. Class will meet Fridays, Jan. 11-25, from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $34 plus $15 for class materials.
