Mr. Beavers

Milford Beavers
Milford Beavers died Jan. 2, 2008. He was 80.

Graveside services were Jan. 5 at Straley Cemetery at Adamsville with his nephew, Kenneth Beavers, officiating.

Mr. Beavers was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Franklin County, the son of Forest and Ivey Beavers. He was the youngest of seven children.

He grew up on farms, mostly in Texas around Adamsville, and his first job was in an egg-drying plant in Lampasas, processing dried eggs for the troops during World War II.

At 18, Mr. Beavers moved to Big Lake and worked as an office manager for Bert F. Duesing for 23 years.

In 1972, he and his mother moved to San Angelo, where he worked in the finance department for the city of San Angelo, retiring March 30, 1990.

Mr. Beavers was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 1203 in Big Lake for almost 60 years.

Survivors include sons, Johnny Beavers, and wife, Carol, of Big Lake, and Bob Beavers, and wife, Ellen, of San Angelo; five grandchildren;, Bobby Beavers Jr., and wife, Kim, Charles Beavers, and wife, Susan, and Rebecca Beavers, all of San Angelo, and Mike Beavers and wife, Dawnell, and Nickie Holland, and husband, Clint, all of Big Lake; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Annie Straley, of Adamsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Beavers was preceded in death by sisters, Ethel and Velma, and brothers, Wilburn, Milton and Melvin.
