The Lampasas High School freshman girls' basketball team obviously didn't get complacent during the holiday break.

The first eight minutes of Wednesday's 52-36 home victory against Pflugerville Hendrickson's freshman squad made that pretty clear.

The Lady Badgers, who entered the game with a 16-0 slate, outscored the Lady Hawks' 22-12 in the opening quarter on their way to win No. 17.

The win not only kept the Lady Badgers' overall record unblemished, but also it improved their District 25-4A record to 8-0, keeping them in the driver's seat for a title.

Jennifer Herron led all scorers with 16 points and also added five rebounds and five steals.

Marisa Bogart tallied 10 points and showed her versatility, recording five rebounds, five steals and five assists.

Madison Morris chipped in 12 points.
