No holiday from show
Lampasas County students may be enjoying a winter break, but local FFA and 4-H'ers are by no means on holiday. Students continue to work with their large and small animal projects as well as finishing ag mechanics entries in the final days leading up to the 2008 Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show to be held Jan. 10-12. Kelsi Ray, in addition to exhibiting a steer in the upcoming show, constructed feral pig traps and goat-pig trap carrying cages. Here, she is working on a queen-size bed built of square tubing and lined with mesquite wood. Using a MIG welder and a chop saw, Kelsi measured, cut, welded and designed her bed "fit for a queen."
