Contest winners
Lampasas High School students took top honors in a recent VFW Voice of Democracy contest, sponsored by Burnet VFW Post 6974. On hand for the awards presentation were, from left, Priscilla Luetkenhoelter, Highland Lakes VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Burnet president; Anahi Rocha, third place; Jacob Bruns, second place; Brittney Metheny, first place; Bill Pratt, Burnet VFW commander; LHS speech teacher Janet Melton; and Dustin Bruce, a contest participant. Mrs. Melton was honored for promoting local youth participation over the years.
