Mr. Krause

Lifetime Copperas Cove resident Arnold A. Krause, 83, died Dec. 30, 2007, in a Temple hospital.

Funeral services were Jan. 3 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove with the Rev. James Herzog officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Wagner. Burial with military honors was at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Mr. Krause was born April 12, 1924, in Copperas Cove, the son of Robert and Selma Krause.

He attended Immanuel Lutheran Church School in Copperas Cove and was a good baseball player for the Copperas Cove Merchants prior to being drafted.

Mr. Krause served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 7th Cavalry, Troop D, at Camp Ladie Luzon. His company was one of the first to enter into Japan after the surrender.

Following his service, Mr. Krause returned to Copperas Cove.

He married Oneida Moore on Nov. 2, 1963, at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Mr. Krause was owner and operator of K&K Meat Company for more than 40 years. While operating the meat company, he also was a farmer and rancher who enjoyed working with his cattle and in the field.

A lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mr. Krause held many positions, to include trustee, Sunday School chairman and others. He served on the Topsey Water Board and was an active member of Our Land, Our Lives. He was a supporter of Coryell County Youth Fair and Bell County Youth Fair.

Survivors include his wife of Copperas Cove; a son, Ronnie Krause, and wife, Brenda, of Copperas Cove; three grandsons, Taylor Kelley, Weldon Krause and Justin Mullins; and a brother, Alvin Krause, of Copperas Cove.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Micaela Kelley; and by three brothers and four sisters.

Pallbearers were S.C.Lee III, Rob Eggeling, David Miller, Dion Strange, Donald Green, Dwayne T. Allen, Roy Krempin and Mike Simmons.

The family requested memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund, 922 Lutheran Church Rd., Copperas Cove, TX 76522.
