Charlie Boyd

Funeral services for Lometa resident Charlie Boyd, 92, were Jan. 3, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Lometa with Minister Doyle Combs officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mr. Boyd died Dec. 31 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.

He was born Oct. 25, 1915, in Lampasas, the son of Pat and Kate Mund Boyd.

Mr. Boyd married ElsieDean Carlile on Feb. 1, 1934.

He owned Lometa Commission Co. for 17 years and was a longtime rancher and livestock buyer.

Mr. Boyd enjoyed traveling, attending rodeos, tending his livestock, and country gospel music.

Survivors include his wife of Lometa; a brother-in-law, Bufard Carlile, of Lampasas County; and a sister-in-law, Verdeola Henderson, and husband, Neal, of Lampasas.
