The Alexanders Lloyd and Bettye Alexander of Lometa celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a barbecue lunch with family members on Nov. 29.

Those in attendance included their three children and spouses, Lloyd Bryon Jr. and Jan Alexander of Lampasas, Barry and Karen Alexander of Austin, and Karen and Terry Simmons of Dallas; as well as their nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Other relatives joined in the occasion to honor the couple, some traveling from as far away as Colorado.

The Alexanders are Lometa High School graduates.

After Alexander completed his tour of duty in the U.S. Army during World War II, the couple married on Dec. 11, 1948.

He is a retired National Guard captain, a rancher and real estate broker. Mrs. Alexander is a retired rural mail carrier.
