Pierian Club holds Christmas concert

2008-12-19 / Lifestyles

A Pierian Christmas concert of Christmas carols was held Dec. 2 at First Presbyterian Church.

The annual event is presented each year as a gift to the community from the Pierian Club of Lampasas.

President Susan Browder welcomed everyone to the event and gave a brief history of the concert.

The invocation was led by Carol Wright.

Betty Ann Whitis and Jo Ater performed several instrumental carols accompanied by Lampasas High School graduates Kiefer Eakes (a college student) and Wesley Boultinghouse (a Temple College graduate).

The men performed solos then sang a duet of Pachelbel's "Canon in D" and "O Holy Night."

The concert concluded with everyone singing "Silent Night" in unison.

A Woodland-themed reception was held in the parlor following the concert, hosted by Nancy Patteson, chairman of the social committee, and committee members Barbara Mullican, Karen Cambon, Kim Garrett and Virginia Dodd.
