SCHOLARSHIP
The Lampasas chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will award at least one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from Lampasas County.
Applications are available at the Lampasas Agri-Life Extension office, the Lampasas High School ag department and the Lometa High School counseling office.
Completed applications are due at the Lampasas Agri-Life Extension office no later than Jan. 1, 2009.
Scholarship selection is based on academic standing, participation in conservation and hunting activities, extracurricular activities and community involvement.
Additional scholarships may be awarded upon funding from the NWTF Texas chapter.
The NWTF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve hunting traditions through conservation and education.
UMPIRES NEEDED
The Temple-Belton chapter is looking for individuals interested in umpiring high school baseball games. No experience is necessary as training will be provided.
The first meeting will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Belton High School fieldhouse located directly behind the baseball field. For more information contact Matt Burch at 254-394-1846 or Mike Garcia at 254-624-8181.
BANQUET
The annual Lampasas Badgers' volleyball-football banquet is set for Monday at 7 p.m. at the Lampasas High School cafeteria.
Meal tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the LHS athletic office or Hodges & Sargent Pharmacy.
Athletes who participated in either fall sport are set to be honored.
