The American Cancer Society is reminding folks of an opportunity to help with 2008 tax deductions, but that also will raise critical funds needed to help the ACS achieve its mission.

The ACS's Cars for a Cure program is accepting used cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles or recreational vehicles to be auctioned off with the proceeds helping fund cancerfighting programs and lifesaving research.

The vehicle does not have to run, but it must have inflated tires and all vital parts in place. The ACS will arrange for vehicle pickup at no charge to the donor.
