Lampasas County commissioners Monday voted to extend the county's ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated areas for 90 days. The extension of the ban took effect immediately.

Exceptions include barbecue pits and trash burned in a screened barrel. A violation of the ban is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
